Mid Season harvest. Probably the most popular hardneck type, because most garlic lovers find the flavor to be "true garlic". A Northwest heirloom that was reported to have been brought to Portland, Oregon before 1900, it is often called Greek garlic by gardeners throughout the region. It is a vigorous grower that produces a good sized bulb. Being a Rocambole garlic, its flavor is strong, hot and spicy, and is especially rich in flavor. It grows well in cold winter areas. Spanish Roja and other Rocamboles are known for their great taste, not long term storage.
